abileunaspadaFor as long as anyone can remember, the Terumi Clan and the Milani clan have existed side by side within the Land of Water. It is theorized that the two were once one clan, having the same elemental affinities strong within both bloodlines, but how those affinities were used is where the branch happened; though the Terumi clan opted for two kekkei genkai in Lava and Boil Release, the Milani instead opted to combine all three in the difficult-to-attain kekkei dota, Metal Release. The use of Fire, Water, and Earth chakras in perfect unison allow Metal Release users to perfectly manipulate any metal they carry in any way that they choose.
Metal can be expanded, condensed, altered, and controlled through the use of hand seals and the Milani Clan's unique combination of chakra affinities. Most have figured that, through the use of chakra strings and flowing their chakra through the metal as a circuit, they can maximize the use of their techniques with little wasted energy - though, with enough exertion, it is possible to also fix whatever metal they are using permanently into a new shape. Only masters of Metal Release can form new metal out of raw ore found in their surroundings, with only four recorded names in their history having successfully done so and only one of them living within the past five generations.

Though they, as a rule, are distrustful of outsiders, once their loyalty is won they will forever be allied with those who have earned their respect and trust – even if it means fighting to the death in order to honour and aid their allies.
